Brazilian Butt Lift
BBL is a true top-to-bottom surgery
Improving the aesthetics of the buttocks has known a tremendous increase in popularity. Whether it is to look good in a bikini, in a tight pair of jeans or to improve the overall silhouette, there is a lot to gain with a so called "Brazilian Butt Lift" or BBL. It is an all-in-one procedure that not only enhances the shape and projection of the buttocks, but also improves the tightness of the waist, definition of the abdomen and back, curviness of the hips, and shape of the inner thighs. My additional 6-month fellowship focused on BBL-surgery in the world-renowned Cirumed Clinic in Marbella allowed me to to master the technique of high-definition body-contouring and gluteal augmentation and apply all the technical and safety guidelines to provide the best results possible.
The essentials
A Brazilian-Butt-Lift (BBL) is an all-in-one procedure to improve the shape and aesthetics of the buttocks, flanks, abdomen, and back.
BBL-surgery brings a tremendous transformation to the whole body with beautiful shaped buttocks, a tighter waist, a flatter abdomen, a more defined back, a dramatically improved waist-to-hip ratio, and an overall enhanced silhouette.
In most cases, the combination of targeted fat reduction around the buttocks and fat transfer to the buttocks gives amazing results. In some cases, gluteal implants may give an additional gluteal projection, but that is not always necessary.
It can be combined with high-definition liposuction of the abdomen for the ultimate transformation or with liposuction of the arms and/or thighs.
BBL-surgery requires a 2-week recovery time. Gluteal implants require a 4-week recovery time. Avoid physical activity for 6 weeks.
Respect the recovery time well and you will profit from the transformation for the rest of your life.
All necessary technical and safety guidelines are applied to ensure an optimal result.
What is a Brazilian Butt Lift ?
If you are thinking about improving your buttocks aesthetics, you may have heard of the term "BBL" or "Brazilian Butt Lift". Although it sounds like this is some sort of "Brazilian way of lifting the buttocks", a true BBL involves a completely different concept and focuses on much more than just the buttocks. When I offer you a BBL-surgery, I want to improve your complete body shape and proportions. This includes:
360 degree liposuction of the abdomen, flanks, upper and lower back
Targeted liposuction of specific deeper fat compartments for a drastic improvement in body shape and gluteal projection
Enhanced gluteal shape and projection through targeted gluteal fat grafting
Improved waist definition with a more aesthetic waist-to-hip ratio
Curvier hips with lipofilling of the hip dips
Enhanced skin retraction thanks to a combination of power-assisted liposuction and radio-frequency
On request of the patient, I can also include:
High-definition liposculpting to get a more athletic look
Liposuction of the arms for increased definition and enhanced tone
Liposuction of the inner thighs to get slimmer, better looking thighs
By combining the latest techniques in advanced body-contouring and new technologies such as radio-frequency for skin tightening and wireless ultrasound for safe fat grafting, I aim to consistently offer more than what you may expect from this surgery. Every patient has of course a different body, so the operative plan is always unique for each patient. To get the best results, I apply a very patient-tailored approach for this type of surgery as everybody has a different anatomy and different expectations as well. During the consultation, I will explain to you the procedure in more detail, with pictures and photographs, as well as which scars to expect and the post-operative care that will be needed. In case of surgery, you can expect a down time of 2 weeks, with light dressings. In addition, the compression garments have to be worn for 12 weeks to get the best results.
BBL-surgery is a top-to-bottom surgery that not only focuses on the buttocks aesthetics. It also enhances the waist, abdomen, back and thighs to ensure a complete body transformation.
A Brazilian Butt Lift improves the projection and shape of the buttocks and restores an aesthetically pleasing waist-to-hip ratio.
When do you need gluteal implants ?
In some cases, I will suggest to use gluteal implants on top of your BBL-surgery. The decision whether or not to use gluteal implants depends on a few factors:
The current shape and projection of your buttocks
Your expectations regarding size and projection of your buttocks
The amount of donor fat available in different areas of your body
The amount of secondary gluteal projection that can be achieved through lower back liposuction
Your current waist-to-hip ratio
Your personal history with regards to gluteal aesthetic surgery
A thorough clinical investigation and clear communication will give us all the answers that we need to make this decision together. If implants are not needed to get a beautiful result, then I will not use them. If implants would add a huge benefit to your overall result, then I will recommend them. My goal at the end of the consultation, is that you really understand what I will do, why I do it, and which results you can expect.
What are the benefits of a BBL ?
As I mentioned before, BBL-surgery focuses on much more then the buttocks only. As in every surgery, my goal is to exceed your expectations. The same is true for a BBL-surgery. As I am able to transform your body from top to down, patients are delighted when they see the results after surgery. It is the combination of 360 degree liposuction, accurate suctioning of deep fat compartments and targeted gluteal fat grafting that give a synergistic effect. That is why you can expect the following benefits when choosing for a BBL:
Drastically enhanced gluteal shape, roundness and projection through fat grafting with or without implants
Tighter waist line with a smooth transition into the hips, giving that beloved hourglass shape
Reconstructed peri-trochanteric depressions (hip dips) through targeted fat grafting
Improved tone and aspect of the abdomen through (high-definition) liposuction
Carved out lower back to improve the secondary projection of the buttocks
Improved inner thigh aesthetics if requested
Improved arm definition if requested
Are you a good candidate for a BBL ?
I have explained before how to make the decision between BBL with or without gluteal implants. These factors are important to analyse during the consultation. In addition, there are other important aspects to consider for any kind of BBL-surgery. These include: overall body shape, fat distribution, skin laxity, current gluteal shape and projection, history of gluteal surgery, your wishes and your expectations. As this type of surgery is extremely versatile with regards to fat harvesting and fat injection, there are many good candidates for BBL-surgery. But to give a few general guidelines as to who is a good fit for BBL-surgery, this would be if:
You wish to improve the shape and projection of your buttocks
You have a BMI that is lower than 32
You have no coagulation disorders
You have some amounts of fat excess in specific zones of your body. This is not a necessity, as gluteal implants may offer a solution for skinny patients.
You have no history of massive weight loss, as this would render the skin too lax for a liposuction-only procedure
You have realistic expectations
You are willing to follow a strict post-operative protocol
If you feel like you would be a good candidate and you wish to get an overall better gluteal shape, I recommend you to plan a consultation in order to see how we can improve your body and gluteal aesthetics and bring a positive impact to your life.
